AVIS Guidelines & FAQs

Our Services

This is a car-only service (24 hours per day, unlimited mileage) available on a Daily, Weekly, and Monthly basis.

  • Rates are inclusive of full insurance coverage, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and 3% Common Carrier’s Tax.
  • Toll and parking fees are at the renter’s expense.
  • Restrictions: Vehicles are restricted from being taken on or driven on inter-islands, mountain trails, and unmade / flooded roads. They cannot be engaged in racing or any extreme adventure sports.
  • You must have with you your reservation or confirmation number for the location agent to quickly locate your booking.

A chauffeured Avis car service is a 10-hour package per day with specific pick up point and destinations/itinerary.

  • Rates are inclusive of chauffeur service, Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) and 3% Carriers tax.
  • Excess Hours: A fee of Php 250.00 will be charged for every hour exceeding the 10 hours. (A fraction of 30 minutes is considered 1 hour).
  • Out-of-Town Charge: Php 450.00 for trips on the outskirts of Metro Manila returning the same day. For overnight stay, renter will be charged Php 1,070.00 per night.
  • Toll and parking fees are the renter’s responsibility.
  • We require at least a 48-hour notice of reservation for us to confirm the availability of your preferred service.

Requirements, Payments & Cancellations

Requirements which must be presented to the servicing station when you pick up the car:

  • Valid Driver’s License (Professional or Non-professional) printed in English. For foreign renters, if the license is in a non-Roman alphabet, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is necessary. (Valid only within 90 days from arrival).
  • Passport (for foreign renters)
  • Company ID
  • Any 2 government-issued IDs with photo and signature

Note: We reserve the right to decline the booking if the renter fails to meet any of the requirements or behaves in an unacceptable/abusive manner toward staff.

  • A full prepayment equivalent to 100% of the rental cost is required.
  • A refundable security deposit of PHP 10,000 OR 40% of the total rental cost (whichever amount is higher) is required to be settled prior to the commencement of the rental period.
  • Payment is strictly through a major credit card which must be under the name of the renter.
  • Excess from payment (refund/reversal) will be returned to the customer at least 3 weeks after the rental has been closed. Chargebacks may reflect on customer’s next credit card statement if it was processed after the account cut-off period.
  • Vehicles are normally supplied with a full tank of fuel prior to release. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level.
  • If returned with a lower fuel level, the renter shall be charged for the required fuel based on the prevailing pump price, plus a 15% surcharge and a refueling service charge of PHP 500.00 per transaction.
  • If the rented vehicle is returned before the end of the contracted date in the rental agreement, an early return penalty shall apply.

Cancellation must be advised to us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid cancellation charges. Otherwise, corresponding fees will be charged to the renter.

Driving Guidelines & Safety

Metro Manila implements the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or Number Coding Scheme. It is strictly imposed in most cities from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a "window time" from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM where coded vehicles may travel (though subject to specific city ordinances). Vehicles with plates ending with a particular digit are banned on the road on given days:

  • 1 or 2 – Mondays
  • 3 or 4 – Tuesdays
  • 5 or 6 – Wednesdays
  • 7 or 8 – Thursdays
  • 9 or 0 – Fridays

The Anti-Distracted Driving Act prohibits a person driving a motor vehicle from holding and using mobile communication devices and electronic gadgets. The prohibition applies while in motion or temporarily stopped on a traffic light.

  • Allowed: Using the aid of a hands-free function such as speakerphones or earphones to make/receive calls without holding the device.
  • Not Allowed: Holding a phone to call, text, browse, or play games. Using earphones to listen to music also falls under prohibited acts.
  • Navigation Apps: GPS or cellphones may be mounted on the dashboard or windshield, as long as the highest point of the device is not higher than four (4) inches from the dashboard. Set your destination prior to departure.

Violators will be fined from Php 5,000 up to Php 20,000 and may cause your license to be revoked.

For Minor Accidents:

  • Safety First & Take Pictures: Alight from your vehicle and take pictures of the situation.
  • Do Not Cause Traffic: Pull vehicles out of the road immediately. Use flares/cones and hazard lights. Call MMDA 1-3-6 for investigators.
  • Interacting with the Other Driver: Refrain from losing your temper. Exchange names, contact info, and insurance details.
  • Insurance: Call your insurance agent immediately and keep in touch with investigators.

For Major Accidents:

  • Check if anyone is hurt. Dial MMDA 1-3-6 for a medical team.
  • Take pictures of the accident (vehicles, license plates, surroundings).
  • Move vehicle off to the side if possible, or stay put until investigators arrive. Let the police take command.
  • Exchange full information with the other driver.
  • Contact your insurance company and file an accident report with the police department.
